Weekend Getaway...Part 2

Conway has changed a lot since we were last there. We made a stop at Rocket Fizz for some sodas to go.

Dinner at David's Burgers...it used to be Fazoli's.

McKenzie and Houston had a beautiful wedding and I'm so glad we made the trip to be there.

We had to eat at Market Place. Angela met us for dinner and it was delicious!

We went to worship at Vilonia and drove around town. We took the kids to Bass Pro Shop before going home. It was a great weekend and I hope we can do it again next summer!

Weekend Getaway...Part 1

We had a wedding to attend in Conway over the weekend so we decided to have a mini vacation before school starts. We stayed one night in Little Rock and had an amazing view of the river.

Friday morning we went to the Museum of Discovery. The kids loved it and even M was pretty interested in everything going on.

After eating lunch we headed to Conway for the rest of the weekend.

IKEA, a Funeral, Worship

Mom, K, M, and I made a trip to Frisco to shop at IKEA. We at lunch at Cheesecake Factory and shopped til we dropped. The girls were SUPER! Mom and I got what we needed and a few things we wanted. It was fun but we were worn out when we finally made it home. I am excited to get the shelves all ready and set up in the playroom.

One down...

My sweet friend Erin's mother passed away. These girls and I go way back. All the way to kindergarten for some of us. Mrs. Florence was a special lady and will be missed.

This pretty girl is wearing a fifty year old dress to worship. We love Mrs. Kathy's hand me downs!

Little bit does not like to sit still so we spend most of our worship time in the nursing room. She spits up and rolls around before finally falling asleep...sometimes. She'll get the hang of this sitting business before long!

A Year of Dates

For Christmas, I gave Blake twelve pre-planned dates. Each month, he opens an envelope with a planned, prepaid date for the two of us. Some are home dates, some are local, and others and out of town. For his January date, we went to Old Washington to tour some of the historic buildings and businesses. Because M is so tiny and the kids had never been on this tour before, Blake thought it would be nice for all of us to go. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun!

This Magnolia tree is 176 years old. It is HUGE!

The old houses and buildings are so pretty. J really enjoyed learning some of the history.

The print shop was cool. J got to be a "printer's devil" and "pull the devil's tail." He printed an advertisement with the print machine. He was pretty proud of himself.

We all dipped candles in the candle shop. This was K's favorite part!

We had lunch at William's Tavern. It was very good and the kids especially liked the earthquake cake.

I'm glad we all went on this date. It was a fun day spent together.

Bass Pro Shop and Doctor Visits

J had his yearly appointment with the allergist. He had a scratch test two summers ago and this time the doctor wanted to do a blood test to know for sure if he had a true allergy or just an intolerance. We found out that he is definitely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. He has to have an Epi Pen with him at all times and we are to be super cautious because it is life threatening. We had been treating it that way anyway but it was kind of disappointing to hear that this is something he has to live with for the rest of his life. But he was a champ! He had three vials of blood drawn and didn't even flinch. The lab tech was very impressed!

After my six week postpartum check up, we stopped at Bass Pro Shop to look around. I don't know what it is about that place but the kids love it! M wasn't that impressed but I'm sure it will grow on her. Those fish are pretty cool!
