IKEA, a Funeral, Worship

Mom, K, M, and I made a trip to Frisco to shop at IKEA. We at lunch at Cheesecake Factory and shopped til we dropped. The girls were SUPER! Mom and I got what we needed and a few things we wanted. It was fun but we were worn out when we finally made it home. I am excited to get the shelves all ready and set up in the playroom.

One down...

My sweet friend Erin's mother passed away. These girls and I go way back. All the way to kindergarten for some of us. Mrs. Florence was a special lady and will be missed.

This pretty girl is wearing a fifty year old dress to worship. We love Mrs. Kathy's hand me downs!

Little bit does not like to sit still so we spend most of our worship time in the nursing room. She spits up and rolls around before finally falling asleep...sometimes. She'll get the hang of this sitting business before long!

Christmas at Mimi and Poppy's

We had Christmas with Mimi and Poppy on Blake's birthday. He's 36! Happy birthday, Dear!

After lunch and presents, the five of us took Blake shopping for a new suit and dress pants. Then we went to see Annie. M did great during the movie and we all liked it.

Atlanta...

...is huge and busy!  When we finally found our hotel, we ordered pizza because we didn't want to get out again on such a busy night.  There are a lot of things we wanted to check out today but it was raining and cold.  We did go the Georgia Aquarium which was huge and awesome.  It would have been more awesome if there hadn't been so many school groups but the kids loved it anyway.  I didn't get many pictures because I was too busy holding onto K.  She has no fear!
We watched the dolphin show and it was K's favorite thing!  She clapped and squealed through the entire show.  J loved the gigantic tank of fish that we walked under.  He couldn't believe the size of the manta rays and sharks.

After the aquarium we ate lunch and shopped.  We checked out one of the upscale malls in Buckhead and found some clothes for the kids.  Hanna Andersson is one of our favorites so it was fun to visit a store instead of shopping online.
Tomorrow we will begin making our way home.  We have one stop to make in Birmingham so I hope we will make it pretty far.

Lately

Last week was crazy busy!  We had an indoor rummage sale at my house Thursday and Friday so we spent the first part of the week getting ready for it.  Why an indoor sale you ask?  Well, we bought our house!  We have been renting a house since we moved to our town and after much discussion, we decided to buy it.  It was built around 1940 and is awesome!  It needs a lot of work though so while we rewire, replumb, and redo the kitchen and bathrooms, we have moved into my parents' house.  My mom and dad are living in their pool house.  I am very excited to get started on the house and can't wait to see how everything turns out!  I'm also glad I can finally share this news with you.  I have been waiting until everything was official.  I will try to post before pictures soon.

In other news, J is still playing soccer.  They had two games last week and he is getting better.  His team still hasn't won a game but they are having fun!  K loves the games and wishes she could play.  It takes several people to keep her distracted!

We went on a shopping excursion on Mom's birthday.  The fountain was awesome and the kids loved it!  They were such troopers that we let them pick out an animal at the Build-A-Bear Workshop.  J chose a horse and K picked the purple bear.  This was the first time we had done this and it was fun!

Saturday night, we had our annual singing at our church building.  J got to lead a couple of songs and did a super job!  He led Blue Skies and Rainbows and Jesus Loves Me.

Day 3: My Legs are Tired from Walking

We packed up the car and headed to Grapevine for our last morning in the Dallas area.  We took J to the Bass Pro Shop.  He had never been before.  I think K liked it as much as he did.  All of the animals, water, fish, and live rattlesnakes were very eye catching.  J shot the guns in the arcade and picked out a new hat to wear on the farm.

She did not like the shark!

Then we went to Grapevine Mills to do a little shopping.  Wow!  What a huge place!  We walked for miles and got some great deals on clothes for the kids.
We also went to LegoLand.  I think this was K's favorite place.  It was very crowded with school groups but she loved getting to run around and play with all of the Legos.  J had a great time too.  He built a car and played in the play place.  Both kids got new Lego sets from the gift shop.

She loved the mini Lego land.  It was set up with different Dallas landmarks.

When we left the mall, they were both exhausted and hungry.  J said his legs hurt and he couldn't walk another second.  Maybe the milk and cookies as an appetizer on the way to the car weren't such a good idea.  We had lunch at Fuddruckers before heading home.
It was a quick trip but we had a great time!  J kept telling me thank you for taking him to all of the places we went.  I'm glad he had fun and love that he gets so excited about seeing new places.
