St. Patrick's Day

The silly leprechaun visited our house again! He left gold glitter everywhere and turned the milk green. He also left a little rainbow treat for the big kids.
I made rainbow pancakes for breakfast and we had a rainbow pound cake for dessert after dinner. J wore his green so he wouldn't get pinched but he had strict instructions not to pinch anyone who forgot their green. I also disliked that part of St. Patrick's Day.

Strawberries and Park Day

We bought three flats of fresh strawberries to put up in the freezer. K helped me wash and slice them. I think she ate her weight in strawberries before we were finished! They were delicious. I wish I had a dozen more flats.

I got to join the kindergarten classes for park day. It was a long hot day at the park with a ton of kids but J had a lot of fun playing!

Movie Night

We read The Happy Elf tonight and watched to movie together. We made hot chocolate and s'mores. What a fun, cozy night!

Day 23

Santa isn't the only visitor on Christmas eve.  The reindeer need a treat too.  J and I mixed up a little reindeer food using oats, Cheerios, and sprinkles.  We also decided that Santa probably travels with a couple of elves so we made some tiny donuts for them.  We iced Cheerios and covered them in sprinkles.  J is very excited about leaving them for the elves!

Cute Food For Halloween

I made these cute lunches for the kids today for Halloween.  K doesn't eat bread on her sandwiches so hers is just meat and cheese.  J had mandarin oranges and peaches in a cupcake liner.  I added a few black and orange sprinkles.  They both had yogurt with a spider web and a spider ring along with a mini muffin liner full of Smarties.

Last week, I made monster quesadillas.  I used mozzarella cheese for the eyes and teeth.  The arms and mouths were made from fruit roll ups.  K loves meat so she got a little extra meat on her plate.

Green Apple Baby Shower

This sweet boy was welcomed into the world several weeks ago by my friend, Laura and her husband Ryan.  I had the pleasure of helping some friends plan a sip and see for Laura and baby O.  We all live in different places so we thought it might be difficult to do any planning but through email and texting we pulled off a super cute shower!  It was great getting to see friends I haven't seen in a while.  We had fun planning and catching up with each other.
After taking inventory of what everyone had, we decided to go with green apples as our main color.  We threw in a little blue and orange and had a great color scheme.  I love the way everything turned out!  Thanks Ellen, Erin, and Mendy for all of your hard work!  Thank you, Laura, for letting us do this for you!

I made a few banners to hang around Ellen's house.

Mendy made green punch to go with the color scheme.  We used my mason jars and paper straws.  Erin used blue duct tape to spruce up tiny water bottles.

Our food table was so cute!  We raided Ellen's kitchen and found a ton of blue and green dishes.  They were just what the table needed!

I made apple spice cupcakes with salted caramel buttercream.  They were delicious if I do say so myself!

Erin's bacon crescent bites are one of my favorites!

Pink Lemonade Baby Shower

We had a little baby shower for Morgan on Saturday.  Tela hosted the shower and picked the theme...pink lemonade.  It was so much fun to have a pink shower!

I made pennant banners to hang about the buffet.  The one in the middle said "It's a Girl."

Tela and Ashley made cream cheese stuffed strawberries.  The chocolate filling is the new Philadelphia milk and dark chocolate cream cheese spread.  They were delicious!

I made pink lemonade cupcakes...super tart!

Mom made the sugar cookies and I decorated them.

Quiche and Bernice's cinnamon breakfast puffs

I saw this idea ages ago!  We used my changing table as the drink station and I hung a lemonade sign on it to mimic a lemonade stand.  Tela made the pink lemonade and it was wonderful!

I made the little tags for the mason jars.  And who doesn't love paper straws!

James and Bernice made this watermelon baby carriage!  It was awesome and made the perfect centerpiece for the table.

I printed drink labels for the water bottles.

More food...lemon blueberry waffles, sausage mozzerella loaf, and kolaches.

Tela and Ashley also made these pretty BLT bites.  They were a hit!

And the lovely mom to be!  She had a great shower.  So many people came to celebrate the arrival of her little girl.
Thank you, Morgan, for letting us do this for you.
