Strawberries and Park Day

We bought three flats of fresh strawberries to put up in the freezer. K helped me wash and slice them. I think she ate her weight in strawberries before we were finished! They were delicious. I wish I had a dozen more flats.

I got to join the kindergarten classes for park day. It was a long hot day at the park with a ton of kids but J had a lot of fun playing!

Happy Birthday, E!

J's friend, E, celebrated her 6th birthday at the park. It was a cold afternoon but the kids had fun playing anyway.

Swimming Lessons and Fun

J wrapped up the second week of swimming lessons today. He learned so much but I believe we will need to take this class again in a couple of years. He just isn't quite old enough to do some of the things he was taught this time. He had a lot of fun though!

While in the big city, we decided to do a few fun things after lessons. We went to the movie theater three times! The kids love going to the theater. We saw two of the dollar movies, Ice Age and The Smurfs. We also took Mamaw to see Monsters University. It was really cute!

We went to the park one day and had a picnic. We took bread to feed the geese and played on the slides a little.

J has been begging to go to Chuck-E-Cheese so I took him one morning. We got a ton of tokens and played games for two hours. He loved it! And I think it was enough fun that we won't have to go back for a while!

Long Day in Raleigh: Part 2

We spent our afternoon at Pullen Park.  It is a beautiful, huge park with an awesome playground.  K got to play in the sand while J climbed ropes.  The carousel was fun and we rode it several times.  K took a nap while we were there.  I walked around the duck pond with her while she slept.  It was a little chilly but it was a beautiful day!

We had plans to eat at The Cheesecake Factory for supper but when we found out it was going to be a 90 minute wait we decided the food court in the mall sounded pretty good!  The mall was huge and we walked around the entire place.  We spent quite a long time in the Lego store.  J played games on the computer and K built towers with tiny pink and purple Legos.

Fun at the Park

After traveling all weekend and having a fun Monday with Daddy, I decided we needed a break today.  We found a park and played for a while.  J played with some other little boys his age and K went down the slide over and over.  We had a long nap and cooked supper.  It was a nice, relaxing day.
