Two Days of Vacation Fun

We had a great first day on the beach. After worship services Sunday morning, we gathered up all of our beach things and headed to the sand. The kids loved it! J did so good swimming in the water and handling the waves for the first year on his own. It was a little choppy so we stayed pretty close but he is an excellent ocean swimmer!
K is still a little scared of the waves but she loved running to the surf and filling her bucket with water. She does like to go into the water when we hold her and jump into the waves. I think by the end of the week, she will be jumping into them on her own!

We had so much fun the first day, we forgot to reapply sunscreen and the kids got a little red. J had his first sunburn and K was pretty pink. So we decided to stay indoors Monday. It was also rainy today so it was a great day to go a museum. We drove down to Pensacola to visit the Naval Aviation Museum. It's free and a lot of fun! The kids loved it and it was the perfect way to spend the day.

Luke and J rode the big simulator. I think J got a little queasy but he would never admit it!

Museums are fun but these little beach bums need a little sand between their toes before bedtime. We grabbed the flashlights and nets and hunted for crabs. J likes to chase the sand crabs but Luke and I had our eyes on the water for soft shells crabs. Maybe we will find a few before the week is over.
