New Year's Eve

We had Christmas at Granny's today.  Everyone in the family got to be there except Tela, Russell, and the boys.  (Yes, that's right, Tela had the babies a little over two weeks ago and everyone is doing great!)  We had lunch, visited, ate dessert, visited, ate some more, talked, and ate some more.  Isn't that what Christmas is about anyway!?!?  The kids exchanged gifts and opened gifts from Granny.  Granny got the little boys guns.  They were so excited!  Even little A got a gun and walked around saying "pow pow" to everyone.  K got some sweet boots from A and a tiny bunny from Granny that has its own little bag to carry it in.  She carried it around for a while!
The adults don't do gifts anymore.  Last year, we began giving money to donate to people.  But Granny still gets to open a few presents.  We also have this crazy tradition of passing a pink chicken and her friends around.  This year, Wes passed the chicken, Shirley, to Granny.  The person passing Shirley also writes a poem that is read out loud.  The poem usually includes important events that have happened in our family over the last year.  We usually cry too.  Maybe one day I will explain a little more about the pink chicken but for now you can just think we are crazy!  That's okay!
The kids has so much fun playing all day with their cousins.  We have several little ones right now so they are really busy.  J played with the big boys most of the day and had the best day ever.  Or that is what he said.  K played with big A and little A and stayed the center of attention for most of the day.  She loves being adored!
We had a great day with our family!
